How We Came To Where We Are Now

Approximately 12 years ago, I set out on a mission to restore life & soul back into Oddhouse Farm. A small, historic farmstead which has now undergone major restoration as part of a sympathetic farm diversification project, converting and preserving a courtyard of beautiful brick and stone farm buildings. Breathing life back into them and a sense of purpose; ensuring the farmstead's sustainability in modern day farming life preserving them for many more years to come. Set in a stunning location and surrounded by open countryside, skirting the Vale of Belvoir, on the borders of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The site had been empty for a long period of time,  two buildings had been set fire to, the farmhouse unlived in, the gardens overgrown.

Restoration & Development

Embarking on ways to develop, diversify and restore the site alongside farming and a family home. The first focus was to make the Farmhouse habitable and then we set about how to make better use of the delapidated farm buildings.

Diversification

Initially, being granted B1 office status for all of the outbuildings, work commenced to restore and convert the combination of brick and stone barns into quality work space stage by stage.  Creating quality barn conversions aimed at local small businesses. The Dairy being the first building, followed by The Stalls and Piggery.

Rural Workspace

Having converted the Dairy, Stalls and Piggery they became the home of our current Tenant - The Little Retreat.  A young, thriving beauty boutique / day spa, founded by Stefannie who specialises in Microblading and is a multi award winning Nail Technician.

The Hen House

The next stage of conversion was our beautiful old Cart Shed.  This is now The Hen House, specialising in all year round, luxury self catering group accommodation and now part of our Exclusive Wedding Package.  Designed specifically with Hen and Chick parties, Girlie Get Togethers, Family Gatherings and Wedding Parties in mind.

The Dutch Barn

The next part of the jigsaw being our largest conversion,  The Dutch Barn, a derelict agricultural building with amazing views and prominent position.  Now a contemporary Wedding and Events Venue, with views over beautiful open countryside.  Offering an all in one experience, somewhere to meet, tie the knot, celebrate and sleep!

The Granary

Alongside The Dutch Barn and as part of our exclusive wedding offering, our romantic old threshing barn, The Granary, complete with it's romantic rustic features now also forms a beautiful intimate ceremony area were couples not wanting a church wedding can Tie The Knot and as part of their special events. to sit alongside The Dutch Barn and our lovely Hen House accommodation, providing an alternative venue for your wedding ceremony.

To follow in Oddhouse Farm's quirky individual style we also created Rosa, a compact and bijou, luxury gypsy caravan, designed for those sneaky get-aways.  Secluded in it's own little private piece of tranquility, with double bed, ensuite shower, wc and kitchenette.  No detail has been overlooked in creating this comfy, cosy space to escape to.
